Halifax, Canada
Ronald McDonald House
Sarah and her team were brought in to design the interiors of the new Ronald McDonald House in Halifax, currently under construction. Using as inspiration the layered history of the city and integrating RMH’s core values into the design, will result in a space where families can feel valued, rooted and nurtured, in while facing challenging times. The design was broken into zones that guided the circulation, layout, color palette and function of each space. This approach was applied to both the common areas, such as the reception and dining hall, and the more private spaces, such as lounges and private suites.
Selecting hospitality grade and finishes, along with the use of greens and other decorative elements, create a timeless and elevated design.
Princess Margaret Showhouse
Sarah teamed up with the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to design the interiors of the 2021 Showhome, valued at over USD $7 million. Together with Greenpark Group, who led the construction, she created inviting and relaxed interiors for a sprawling 11,000 sq. ft. residence just north of Toronto. Every detail of the five-bedroom house, which has nine bathrooms and a live-in kitchen, has been considered. “This entire home is a reflection of the past year and the changes that many of us have had to make in our lives,” says Sarah, who included a private office with a powder room, a designated homework zone and a bedroom suite on the main floor with wider doorways for wheelchair access. “We view our homes now as classrooms for our children, places of work and a refuge from the outside world,” adds the mother of four.
